AskSpector Presenting the perfect taco for the baseball play
Posted 3 лет назад in Автомобили и транспорт.
The regular season is over, and it's time for the playoffs, so let's get ready for that by talking about baseball, and also whatever else has been on people's minds, because it's once again time for the #AskSpector Tweetbag! As always, to ask a question for next time, just hop over to Twitter and use the #AskSpector hashtag. It's that easy! Now, on to this week's questions... and answers.
tacos
Jo Innes (@JoNana)Technically, this is not a question. Technically, I left open the po sibility of non-questions being submitted by asking "what's on your mind?" What's on Jo's mind? Tacos. There is nothing wrong with this at all. Tacos are quite good. As good as burritos? No. A hard-shell taco is prone to disintegration upon the first bite taken. A soft taco generally is just a lazy burrito.
Think about this, though: A taco where the shell is replaced by something fluffier that is meant to be a crescent rather than a half-wrapped burrito, and instead of ground beef or shredded chicken, a cleaner, more tubular piece of meat is used so that meat doesn't drop all over the place. Lettuce Ryne Sandberg Jersey is a flavorle s waste of time, so use some onions in sauce, instead. The eliminates the need for tomatoes on your taco. Salsa also is now unnece sary, but you'll want a bit of a zing, so use some spicy brown mustard.
The perfect taco is a hot dog. Happy playoffs, everyone!
pace of play: solved by bigger strike zones, keeping batters in the box, and a clock on pitchers. Fair?
Jeremy Avery (@therealjavery)Very fair. So fair, in fact, that all of these things are part of Major League James Norwood Jersey Baseball rules. If they really care about pace of play (and I think the i sue is overblown -- have you seen how long an NFL game is?), they can just enforce the rules they already have.
Who's your pick to win the world series
SugeLover (@sugelover)I picked the Dodgers before the season, and I'm sticking with the Dodgers. I went 5-for-5 picking the National League playoff teams, but only 2-for-5 in the American League, getting the Tigers and Royals. So, I gue s the Tigers are my AL pennant pick, supplanting the Rangers.
what playoff team has the intangibles to win the World Series this year?
petbugs (@petbugs13)It's hard to go against the Yankees with Derek Jeter on their side, even though they're not technically in the playoffs. I believe that The Captain can find a way to use Justin Grimm Jersey his leadership skills and cla s to bring home a 28th world championship to New York.
After Jeter's retirement, do we have any idea who will be the next mega-famous MLB player? And who's next to get farewell tour?
David A. Arnott (@ArnottACBJ)For the first part, either Clayton Kershaw or Mike Trout can be the next uberstar. It would help a lot if one of them has a huge playoff performance. Ichiro is worthy of a farewell tour. What he's meant to the game of baseball on a global scale is incredible.
What moves do you think the Red Sox will make this offseason?
Jake (@JWally27)They don't really have a whole lot to do from a position player standpoint. It's going to be about adding pitching, and lots of it, especially in the rotation. That sets up well for this offseason and the free agent market looks.
How far is the gap between Jeter and Rizzuto as No. 1 Yankee SS of all-time?
Lowetide (@Lowetide_)About as big as the gap between Rizzuto and Yankee Stadium three minutes after a thunderclap during a game he was broadcasting.
Game 2 of Robel Garcia Jersey Tigers-Orioles could start at noon on Friday while most people work. Does MLB even care about ratings?
Curtis (@Curtos07)They do care about ratings, which is why Cardinals-Dodgers will be on in prime time. Seriously, though, it's much better to have the games start at different times than to play playoff games simultaneously. Tigers-Orioles just isn't a very sexy matchup to most of the country.
What do you foresee happening for my beloved Cubs in terms of pitching for 2015?
Demon Monkey (@Schwarziest)I think they'll look to spend big for an ace along the lines of Max Scherzer of Jon Lester, maybe seek to make a trade with one of their copious middle infield prospects to get another big-time arm, and then roll with Jake Arrieta, Kyle Hendricks, and maybe Felix Doubront or someone from the farm system (Dallas Beeler? C.J. Edwards?) to fill out the rotation. They have a lot of choices to make, but I think Chicago has a good chance to put together a pretty darn good rotation. The bullpen? Who knows? Who ever knows about bullpens?
Beyond actual records, which playoff team has the largest home field advantage? Or does it exist?
Duke Wall (@dukewall66)I don't think it's that big of a deal, but the noise in Pittsburgh can take a mentally weak pitcher off his game, potentially. I'm interested to see what the atmosphere in Kansas City is like, but it's not like there's a speedy Astroturf team that really gets a competitive advantage from its home park.
How did the Nationals pitching staff get so damn good?
Bradley Smart (@bradleysmart15)They filled the roster with really good pitchers? I don't know that there's a real trick to it. Draft picks like Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmermann panned out Dillon Maples Jersey in the rotation, as did Drew Storen (eventually) in the bullpen, they made good trades to get Tyler Clippard and Doug Fister, and Rafael Soriano came in as a free agent with a solid resume. It takes some luck for talent to all pan out, but in some ways, you make your own luck with scouting and research.
Would you rather eat mayonnaise that's been sitting in the car for a week or go on tour with Nickelback?
Dan Szymborski (@DSzymborski)Let's a sume the mayo has gone off, because if it's just been in a sealed jar in the trunk, this isn't much of a debate. I'll do the Nickelback tour. I'd get to see a bunch of different cities, and probably after a few concerts, I would grow numb to how awful the music is. It's only a couple of miserablehours out of the day, and the rest of it probably would be pretty fun.
what postseason outcome would be the best in the amount of troll produced?
Alex Simon (@alexsimon99)Trolls live under bridges, so Pittsburgh against Oakland would maximize troll po sibilities. Also, several A's players have hairstyles that would work for this.
What do you normally do during "not baseball"
I'mNotAHRHitter (@ImNotAHRHitter)Baseball has a pretty busy offseason, so, still baseball... just without games to watch.
Who comes out of the knife party that is the central?
Jabber (@Jabber28)Knife parties are very dangerous. Try not to attend them. I lean toward Javier Baez Jersey the Blackhawks winning the division this year, but if Kari Lehtonen has a big year, Dallas has a real
