Pat Murphy will manage the Padres for the rest of the 2015 season, the Tuesday.

It's an intriguing hire by San Diego general manager A.J. Preller, who Colby Rasmus Jersey on Monday.

Murphy, 56, had managed in the Padres' minor league Renato Nunez Jersey system the last four seasons, including at Triple-A El Paso this year. But he is better known for his work in the college ranks, first at Notre Dame (1988-94) and then at Arizona State (1995-2009).
