Horrible news out of Milwaukee:Brewers shortstop Jean Segura has left the team and is traveling to the Dominican Republic, where his 9-month-old son, Janniel, died Friday.

Segura has been placed on the bereavement list. The news was first reported by .

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke met with the media Saturday morning. He told reporters that Segura found out after the Brewers' Friday Cincinnati Bengals T Shirts home game against the Cardinals.

From the : "He was sick," Roenicke said of Segura's son. "(Segura) was on the phone yesterday before the game, and they thought he was OK and getting better. I don't really know much more than that.

"I don't know if it's been (going on) a while. Saying that, it may have been a couple days. I don't really know."

The paper notes there are no plans for when Segura will return to the team. That's not the concern right now.

"He's emotional, he's young (24)," Roenicke told reporters. "That's why when I tell you I don't know what's going to happen with him, I worry about him.

"Having his mom here certainly helps, and his uncle. His uncle was in town last time when he had the thing and he went through that with him.

"He's Isaiah Prince Jerseys young. These things aren't easy when we're our age. They're tough things."

The Brewers observed a moment of silence for Janniel Segura on Saturday,and the clubhouse was closed before the game.Milwaukee lost, 10-2.

Starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson said he really Trenton Irwin Jerseys wanted to win the game for Segura. Nelson went 4 1/3 innings, giving up eight runs and eight hits.

"I'm disappointed I didn't do my part to get it done," he said. "We are all praying right now for Segura and his family."

"When something like that happens, you become a family," Cardinals starter AdamWainwright said. "Baseball as a whole becomes a family. There's bigger things than baseball. I understand that he's going through something that I hope I never, never have to go through. So our hearts and prayers go out Jamarr Chase T Shirts to him."
